Shenandoah National Park
I just returned from a beautiful visit to Shenandoah National Park during the peak of Autumn foliage season.
My first day was a little bit drizzly so I spent some time in Luray Caverns.
The formations were amazing.
I hiked to the top of Stony Man Mountain.

On a clear day I hiked to Whiteoak Canyon Falls, at 86 feet the second highest waterfall in the park.
The path was covered with jewel colored leaves.

Wow. I am incredibly jealous. Thank you for sharing. What kind of camera do you use? Lately, I have been having serious lighting trouble with my point and click digital. Your pictures are fantastic.
Thanks Andrew, I'm so glad you liked my photos. I used a Canon Rebel for about half the photos, and I used a Canon Powershot for the rest of them. When I go hiking and don't want to carry a big camera I find the Powershot works just fine.
I think I was just lucky to have such a beautiful place to photograph!
Anne, These shots are beautiful. I'll check out the canon when I look for a new point and click digital. As I recall they are rated pretty well in consumer reports. The colors were spectacular in your pics. Could sort of see the old man looking up, but I never have a good eye for those things. I always love your blog! Laura

Love your pictures. Isn't the White Oak Canyon Falls pretty? I was hiking near there this past Sunday, on the Limberlost trail. You saw nicer foliage. Beautiful park, isn't it? Glad you had a good trip, and thanks for sharing your wonderful photos. Art
Hi Art, Thanks! Yes, White Oak Canyon is very pretty. I was there on Sunday also. Doesn't that intersect Limberlost trail? I think I saw a sign. We were probably very close to each other!!! Too bad we didn't know!
Yep, Limberlost and WOC trails intersect in two places. How funny! Small world, Anne! I even considered walking a bit of the White Oak Canyon Trail, just down to the falls. It was a pretty day up there. I am glad that you got to take such a nice trip! I love SNP and wish I could go there every week! My planned trip nearly two weeks ago was rained out. Art
Hi Art, That's funny, we could have been on the same trail! Yes, Shenandoah is very pretty. It's about four hours for me to get to, and this is the first time that I have been there....
